How it works
Three steps, start to finish.
- 1
Candidates and centres
Candidates apply online; centres, rooms and invigilators are set up by the exam body. An exam-only school switches the classroom tools off and keeps everything else.
- 2
A sealed paper
When a session opens, the paper moves into the sitting, encrypted if sealing is on, and the question text is blanked everywhere else. Saves are one signed write, built for load.
- 3
Fair results
One shift uses raw marks; several shifts use percentiles within each shift. AI and statistics only raise flags after the sitting, for a person to review.
What you get with exam bodies and sittings.
No cloud AI inside
During a sitting only on-device checks run; a test proves nothing else is imported.
Sealed papers
Encrypted until the session opens; wording blanked elsewhere.
Built for load
One signed write per save, with no lookups in the way.
Percentiles per shift
Several shifts are compared fairly, by rules you set.
Flags, not verdicts
Integrity flags go to a person; marks never change by themselves.
The usual tools after
At close, answers flow into AI marking and the plagiarism checker.
How it compares.
Fair, sourced comparisons with the tools schools weigh this against, checked on their own sites.
Questions about exam bodies and sittings
Is this for schools or exam bodies?
Both. An exam-only school gets sittings, centres and candidates; a full school can run its exams the usual way.
Does AI run during the exam?
No cloud AI runs inside a sitting. Only on-device checks like the face check. AI helps around the exam, before and after.
How are several shifts made fair?
One shift uses raw marks; several shifts use percentiles within each shift, with rules set by the exam body.
Can the paper leak before the session?
With sealing on, the paper is encrypted until the session opens and its wording is blanked elsewhere.
Goes well with.
